Putting Blake to Music: Harriet Stubbs and William Blake. The musical artist Harriet Stubbs will illuminate with words and sound and take us on the journey of her Debut Album Heaven and Hell: The Doors of Perception.

Harriet will be performing works from her debut album that was considered for four Grammy’s. Heaven and Hell: The Doors Of Perception produced by Russ Titelman and featuring Marianne Faithfull. The album is based on Blake’s concept of The Doors Of Perception later taken up by Aldous Huxley and rock band The Doors in the 60’s. It is a reimagining of classical music and a journey from Innocence, to Experience, to Higher Innocence. Marianne Faithfull has a deep affinity with Blake and a career in rock n roll. The opening over John Adam’s Phrygian Gates is of Marianne reading curated plates selected to set the listener up for the album’s journey. The performance on November 4th will include works from this album with other guest performers.
