The Bicentenary of William Blake’s Death

Open Call to celebrate the life and work of William Blake

Blake 200

2027 will mark the 200th anniversary of William Blake’s death. We’d like that year to be filled with events, exhibitions, publications and performances of all kinds.

As well as organising our own events, and supporting the work of galleries and publishers, the Blake Society wil be creating an online resource which acts as a listing of events, worldwide. From international academic symposia, to art exhibitions, podcasts, poetry gatherings, musical recitals and smaller group gatherings in universities and among friends.

If you’re planning an event, we’d love to hear about it and support you by telling others. Our hope is that the #Blake200 Event List will become a record of what a broad, abundant community did to celebrate the life and work of this extraordinary artist 200 years after his death.

Have you got plans? We’d love to hear!

In due course there will be a system of events listing for a new website – while we are developing this, please do get in touch and tell us about your plans, using the form below. Our website for #Blake200 will be built during 2026, so this is an on-going project.

Please use #Blake200 on your social media too, to help bring together all of those with an interest in the work of William Blake.
